Violent incident |

|
On the evening of Wednesday 29th April there was a fight among a group of three rough sleepers near Westminster Cathedral at the junction of Ambrosden Avenue and Thirleby Road. One male was attacked by two others and sustained head injuries. He was treated for these injuries near Victoria Coach Station where police were called at the request of the London Ambulance Service. After interviewing the victim police were able to find one of the suspects who was arrested and taken to Charing Cross Police Station. This was a serious incident which some local residents may have witnessed or heard about. The suspect has since been charged with an attempt to cause grievous bodily harm in contravention of Section 1 (1) of the Criminal Attempts Act 1981 and he has been remanded in custody until his hearing in court on 28/05/2026. Such incidents are viewed very seriously and we appreciate the alarm and distress news of them may cause to residents. We are determined to confront such activity with the full force of the law and are reassured by the court’s decision to keep the suspect in detention. | ||
